Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands to christen trailing suction hopper dredger

 

On Wednesday 10 February 2010, Her Majesty the Queen will officiate at the christening and launch of trailing suction hopper dredger WILLEM VAN ORANJE. Royal Boskalis Westminster has the vessel built at the IHC Merwede yard in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands.

The dredger has a length of 137m, a beam of 28m and a loading capacity of 12.000m³. She will be launched immediately after the christening ceremony and then docked along the quay for further final construction. The vessel will be commissioned in late 2010 and deployed on major dredging projects worldwide.

The theme of the launch and christening will be the celebration of the 100th jubilee of Royal Boskalis Westminster.

communication@spam-preventionihcmerwede.com Hare Majesteit de Koningin doopt sleephopperzuiger Hare Majesteit de Koningin verricht woensdag 10 februari 2010 in Kinderdijk de formele handelingen die behoren bij de doop en de tewaterlating van de sleephopperzuiger WILLEM VAN ORANJE. Het schip wordt gebouwd op de werf van IHC Merwede in Kinderdijk in opdracht van Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster. Het schip heeft een lengte van 137 m, een breedte van 28 m en een laadruim van 12.000 m³. Direct na de doop wordt het schip te water gelaten, waarna het aan de kade zal worden afgemeerd voor verdere afbouw. Het schip komt eind 2010 in de vaart en zal wereldwijd op grote waterbouwkundige projecten worden ingezet.
