IHC Merwede - the technology innovator

Over the years, IHC Merwede has built thousands of ships and equipment. In doing so a vast amount of knowledge and experience was built up in the field of shipbuilding and the work fields of these vessels, dredging and offshore.

This expertise and know-how is now concentrated in the division Technology & Services, in a large number of centers of excellence that contribute significantly to the improvement and technological innovation of the equipment built at IHC Merwede. The various business units are all experts in a specific field for which they supply advanced products such as for instance dredging pump systems, process automation or hydraulic piling systems.

One of the goals of the Technology & Services division is realising a so-called 'technology push’, identifying and developing new markets for innovative products and services. Successful examples are the large scale land reclamation and the deep sea mining for minerals. These developments have been made possible because IHC Merwede supplied the necessary technology.
