IHC Merwede is world market leader in the construction of sophisticated and specialised dredgers. Virtually all large international marine contractors use IHC Merwede equipment. Be it large or smaller trailing suction hopper dredgers, cutter dredgers, bucket dredgers or grabs, the vessels can be found all over the world.

Traditionally, the main activities of IHC equipment constitute the construction and maintenance of ports and waterways. However, the dredging world is continuously changing. We are seeing that the traditional activities are slowly being surpassed by other new applications of the dredging technology. The large scale land reclamation works are one major development, but we also see more offshore projects for the oil and gas industry, environmental projects and alluvial mining projects.
