
Statistics proved that in most industries the initial investment in a piece of equipment will be spent once more on maintenance during the life cycle. Research shows that this number varies from one to three times the amount in the dredging industry, depending on e.g. the location and the type of soil being dredged.
With that in mind IHC Merwede designed the IHC Life Cycle Support program. This program optimizes a maintenance plan resulting in a minimization of the total costs.
In general this means in increase in direct costs to some extent, because for example a preventative maintenance job has to be executed, but in the end the total costs will be less.
