The IHC Beaver 9029C is a 13,000 kW cutter suction dredger, suitable to dredge a large variety of soils including rock.
Panama Canal Authority and Sinohydro (China) have invested in this type of dredger for execution of major dredging projects.
The IHC Beaver 9029C is equipped with the latest dredging technology and features, to improve on efficiency and maintainability:

  • electrically driven cutter and winches for dredging hard soils;
  • use of Cutter Special® pumps, which combine a large ball passage with high suction performance and high efficiency;
  • three dredgepumps, (one submerged single walled, two on-board double walled) of the same type, using identical wear parts for each of the pumps (impeller, pump casing, wear plates)
  • engine room and on-board pumps at main deck level for easy access; identical cutter E-motor and underwaterpump E-motor;
  • wear resistant material for on-board pipelines, and so called “white iron” wear parts for the dredge pumps;
  • separate accommodation unit placed on vibration dampers for improved comfort for crew.

This type is designated the IHC Beaver 9029 C.
