All vessels that come off the IHC Merwede Offshore & Marine slipways are genuine technological masterpieces, tailor-made for demanding customers. That is the challenge for the engineers, designers and shipbuilders and exactly what they do: translating the sometimes conflicting wishes of clients into s workable model that can be built within the available budget and on time. For clients in the offshore industry IHC Merwede built a large number of production vessels that are able to lay cables and pipelines accurately on the bottom of the sea. But also heavy cranes that are used for offshore infrastructural works such as for instance platforms.

The IHC Merwede cluster Offshore & Marine also builds passenger ships. Luxury cruise vessels equipped for a comfortable trip along the river Rhine. And ro-ro ferries that will swiftly bring across drivers and their vehicles while the passengers have a meal on board in the restaurant.

For the Dutch Navy IHC Merwede built a number of vessels as well. Modern ships equipped with state-of-the-art global positioning technology, for the transport of troops and their equipment.
