Today, the leaving Economic Affairs Minister Van der Hoeven granted funding of €19.5 million for the Far and Large Offshore Wind (FLOW) innovation project. The subsidy matches the same level of funding previously announced by the companies in the FLOW consortium.
IHC Merwede recently decided to link the business units’ capabilities relating to offshore wind in a specialised department: ‘IHC Offshore Wind’. IHC OW will coordinate the specialists and projects in the area and it is in the process of developing a total package of integrated solutions for the market challenges discussed here.
IHC Merwede's vision is that energy, safety, economic stability, stocks of raw materials and logistic possibilities are vital to the global future. They are the backdrop to IHC Merwede operations and justify the company's existence in the long term. Offshore wind is one of the focus areas of IHC Merwede.

RWE Offshore Wind, Eneco, TenneT, Ballast Nedam, Van Oord, IHC Merwede, 2-B Energy, XEMC Darwind, ECN and TU Delft are pioneering a large scale innovation programme for the development of wind energy far out at sea. (Far and Large Offshore Wind: FLOW). The plan was presented on September 9th to Minister of Economic Affairs Van der Hoeven.
